  The Pharisees hired these two men to drag the body of Jesus to Gehenna, but the three marys held on to the body and would not let go. Joseph and Nicodemus brings an order from Pilot for the release of the body to them and gives it to the Centurion and he steps over the body and says HALT!

  With Maria, one can see it in a new light. In today's time we created a religion about Jesus instead of worshipping Jesu's faith and religion. Jesus came to reveal to the world that the Father's Spirit dwells in us. The Fatherhood of God  and  the Brotherhood of mankind, and Christianity does not teach that.
  So that painting could be viewed as worship the Father first then you
  can worship me.
